The Cabinet of Lost and Found
2018
Poster design
This brief involved designing a promotional flyer that unfolds into a poster, for The Red Room Poetry Group.
The Cabinet of Lost and Found is an event where objects and poems are installed into ‘Cabinets of Curiosities’ and displayed in multiple locations in Sydney. ‘Cabinets of Curiosities’ are a precursor to the modern museum; a collection of rare and special objects people displayed in their homes.
Referencing poetry and ‘Cabinets of Curiosities’, the poster compares cabinets to Chinese writing grids and an open book. Gradients invite the viewer to search deeper into the ‘Cabinets of Curiosities’ and immerse themselves into a world of poetry.
The poster-flyer is designed to reveal important event information as it is unfolded.
