Tuck Shop

2024

Events Design, Creative Direction, Marketing, Digital & Print

Brief

For one night only, Good Food Events transformed Quay Quarter’s food hall into a vibrant 90s-inspired school canteen. Held on Vivid’s opening night, I was tasked with a crafting a look and feel for Tuck Shop that was youthful, incorporated Vivid’s colour palette and fused Y2K nostalgia with the charm of tuck shop treats.

With an impressive lineup of culinary talent onboard, the campaign’s identity had to showcase different chefs and restaurants equally. The scale of the occasion and lack of supporting imagery meant bespoke illustrations were needed, to display across a wide range of marketing collateral and event installations.

Solution

Fusing iconic 90s gadgets with classic sugary treats, Tuck Shop’s campaign identity boasts the best of sweet nostalgia. An electric colour palette with hot pink and cyan embodies Y2K trends while integrating Vivid’s branding. The hero graphic of stacked plates is a simple yet punchy nod to the event’s canteen concept, and general enough to accommodate all the chefs and vendors. High-impact illustrations were introduced for a second push of ticket sales and let in-situ creative stand out within the large venue. Combined, the hero graphic and illustrations were versatile to use across market placements, continually garnering interest.
